Remain extra vigilant to avoid untoward incident: Watali

JAMMU, Nov 25: Inspector General of Police (IGP) IR/Armed Shafkat Ali Watali asked the officers and officials to remain punctual and extra vigilant to avoid any untoward incident.
He was speaking during meeting with the officers and officials at IRP-15th Battalion Headquarters Gulshan Ground, here today.
The meeting was organized to seek the welfare issues of the women officers and officials and to listen to their grievances. Senior officers of Armed Range Office Jammu and IRP-15th Battalion were present in the meeting.
Anita Sharma, SSP, Commandant presented the welcome address and readout the achievements of the battalion.
Watali stated that the IRP-15th Battalion performed various types of duties in Jammu Province with dedication. He added that this battalion is only unique Women Battalion in the Jammu and Kashmir, which has been raised to cater the needs of women police to deal with various types of duties in the entire State like law and order, checking and frisking duties at vital installations and other multifarious duties.
He said that Commandant of the battalion uplifted the Battalion’s infrastructure in short span of time still there are some areas which need to be improved.
The officers and officials present in the meeting were given ample opportunity to project their reports and suggestions so that the same could be redressed.
Watali asked the participants to remain punctual, extra vigilant at their respective duty points to avoid any untoward incident. He also directed them be in good turnout during duty hours. He also asked them to maintain proper discipline among the rank and file. With regard to welfare measures, the officials were assured that due care will be given in this aspect to meet the aspiration of serving officials in future also.
