Are ambulances only show pieces or they really serve the purpose they are actually meant for? Even those lucky ones who get a positive response to their calls and ambulance vehicle is really sent to the patient’s residence, does it reach there in time? Even if it picks up a patient , especially one with an emergency does it get a free road to run fast to reach the hospital ? If the answer to these are “no” , then who is responsible for creating nuisance type of disarray on roads.
In Srinagar , all youths are not interested in hurling stones on security forces but maximum of them are positive thinkers and a huge group of such youth took a march with placards in hands reading “Save Human Life” “Give way to Ambulances”. We saw in many instances across the country that before a critical patient reached a Hospital, it died en-route because of traffic jams and confusions.The ones who treat roads as their personal fiefdoms and rob them of utility of smooth traffic could be tomorrow’s victims and sufferers of such traffic indiscipline .
Hence a mechanism be evolved to make ambulances run fast and smoothly to save the ones carrying for treatment.
