Bootlegger held with liquor

KATHUA, Sept 23: Reacting swiftly on a specific information a team of Police Station Lakhanpur headed by Inspector Kulbir Singh nabbed two persons with 60 pouches of JK Excise liqour 250ml each.
In the intervening night of September 21 and 22 at about 2230 hrs, on specific information police party of PS Lakhanpur laid special naka at village Maha, Jandore  Chowk Lakhanpur and started  vehicle checking. During the checking police intercepted motor cycle No.PB-68/0939 which the accused was riding along with his associate and after search recovered 60 pouches of 250 ml each of J&K Excise from their possession.
Both the accused were identified as Surinder Singh S/o Tula Ram R/o village Hote tehsil Kathua and  Devinder Yadav S/o Ram Hari Yadav R/o Gorkhpur A/P village Hote tehsil Kathua. A case No 88/2017 U/S 48(a) 56 (a) Excise Act stands registered at Police Station Lakhanpur against him and investigation going on.
The drive was carried under the supervision of Dy.SP DAR DPL Kathua . Parul Bhardwaj  and overall supervision of SSP Kathua Mohd Suleman Choudhary.
