JAMMU, Sept 23:  GOC White Knight Corps Lt Gen A K Sharma interacted with members of capacity building tour for 18 farmers of border area villages of Nowshera, Rajouri district to National Dairy Research Institute Karnal and Horticulture Training Institute Uchani, Karnal (Haryana.
The six-day tour was organised from Sept 18 to 23, 2017. The aim of the tour was to provide these farmers an insight into the modern technology and method of farming to improve the quality and yield.
It provided an excellent opportunity for farmers of remote border areas to visit various eminent agriculture, dairy and horticulture institute, located at Karnal and Uchani (Haryana).
GOC, while interacting with the farmers, congratulated them on successful completion of the tour. He urged the farmers to utilise the first hand knowledge of various techniques acquired during the tour for over all development of the region.
The farmers were immensely grateful to the Army for providing such platform, which would considerably benefit their profession. They also informed that they were keen to share their experiences with their colleagues and villagers to facilitate development of the region.
