Extension lecture on ‘Challenges in Civil Engineering Works’ held

JAMMU, Sept 9: Department of Civil Engineering organized an extension lecture on “Challenges in Civil Engineering Works and Update with the Current Technologies” for the 7th semester students at YCET.
Rajnish Magotra, HoD Civil Engineering Department welcomed the Director Dr Arvind Dewangan, Dean Dr Sandeep Malik, Chief Coordinator BR Verma and Resource Person PK Nanda, Former Executive Engineer, Hydraulic Wing, J&K.
Nanda interacted with the students and suggested various aspects of civil engineering approaches followed world wide. He gave detailed presentation on irrigation works, mix design, slit factor and moral responsibilities towards society.
He said that there is great technological revolution and meeting those parameters is a daunting task. He apprised about judicious use of water, mining operations, etc, which is the need of the hour.
Without having thorough knowledge of specific field, it is not possible to enter into the competitive world, he added.
