JAMMU, Sept 6: Asserting that any issue can be resolved through dialogue, Syed Waseem Rizvi, Chairman, Shia Wakf Board, Uttar Pradesh here today said that let decades old Ram Temple and Babri Masjid dispute settle down without an intervention of the Supreme Court.
“Why to wait for the judgement of the Supreme Court? There are apprehensions that an outcome of the decision on Ram Temple-Babri Masjid, whatever it may be, will ”disrupt peace” but we can resolve the matter through dialogue and talks with all the sections of the society across the country,” Mr Rizvi here told reporters.
The Shia leader was here in the town to hold talks with members and heads of Muslim bodies particularly of Shia fraternity on Ram Temple and Babri Masjid. “Babri Masjid was established by Mir Baqi and he was a Shia leader. Being Chairman of Shia Wakf Board, we have all rights to decide on it,” he added and said, “let Ram Temple is built at the same location and Babri Masjid in the area dominated by the Muslims.”
“Since the dispute, over 2000 people had died. We feel that dialogue is the only medium to resolve the crisis,” he suggested. He however, lashed out at the Pakistan for its interference into the Kashmir issue and in Ram Temple and Babri Masjid case.
“There are only bunch of people the so called Muslim clerics, Mullas and Moulvis, who are being funded by the Pakistan to disturb peace in the country,” he alleged and said, ”in UP, only seven to eight per cent of such elements exist, who are not favouring our formula. They are doing so only on the dictations from the Pakistan.”
“All those who are opposing our formula and do not want to settle down the matter amicably with talks, are sponsored by the Pakistan due to which the atmosphere in entire country in getting spoiled,” said the Shia leader.
“Besides Shia Muslims, we also had detailed discussions with Sunni Muslims and they have agreed to our thought of settling the dispute,” he said and added, ”after covering Uttar Pradesh, we have come to Jammu and will visit Kashmir in days thereafter to New Delhi and Mumbai where violence is ”expected” after Supreme Court Judgement.”
”We want people to remain prepared so that peace prevails,” he asserted and said, ”Sunni Wakf Board is already dissolved and they are not agreeing with us because they are toeing Pakistan’s line.”
”Those who negate can easily spread hatred messages and misguide people but those who are on right path, have to cautiously follow the steps,” he said and added, ”guns and stones are solution to none. Let us hold dialogue. Nobody follows orders from the Supreme Court. Shahbano Case, Tripple Talaq are examples to it.”
