Motorcyclist dies, 8 students injured in road mishaps

UDHAMPUR, Sept 6: A motorcyclist was knocked to death by a Tanker at Gole Mela, Dhar Road Udhampur while eight students were injured when their school bus rolled down in a gorge near Tikri, here today.
The motorcyclist, identified as Anil Kumar, son of Sudesh Kumar of Nagolta, Chenani, was knocked to death by a rashly driven Tanker, bearing registration number JK03C-6740. Police rushed to the spot and shifted the dead body to DH Udhampur for postmortem besides registering a case in this connection.
Meanwhile, in another road mishap, eight students of Devine Public School at Sandrani, Block Tikri, were injured when the school bus rolled down into a gorge.  The school bus, bearing registration number JK08A-7437, was on way from Sandrani to Dhanu when driver lost control over the vehicle resulting into the mishap.
Police and locals rushed to the spot and shifted the injured students to PHC Tikri where three of them were referred to GMC Hospital Jammu for advanced treatment.
The injured students were identified as  Ayaat, daughter of Riyaz Ahmad, Adnan Wani,  son of Sarver Khan, Adaawani, daughter of Server Khan, Sanna,  daughter of Akbar Khan, Manavi,  daughter of Krishan Singh, Kayamat, daughter of Server Khan, Shivansh,  son of Raguvir Singh and  Naina Rajput,  daughter of Raguvir Singh.
