Unknown body recovered; Man falls unconscious, dies

JAMMU, Sept 5: The dead body of an unidentified man of age about 45-50 years was recovered late last night from Shalamar Chowk while an unknown man today fell unconscious here at Parade ground and later died on way to hospital.
According to a police spokesman, the dead body of a man appears to be a beggar was spotted last midnight by some passersby near Shalamar Chowk. He said that the dead body was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for identification and post mortem.
A case in this connection was registered at City police station, where police has started inquest proceedings under Section 174 CrPc.
According to a police spokesman, an unidentified man today suddenly fell unconscious at Parade Ground. Some boys who were playing in the ground informed the police, which shifted the unconscious man to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors.
“Prima facie, it appears that man died of cardiac arrest or some drug reaction, as some medicines were found in his possession”, the spokesman said, adding, in this connection inquest proceedings under Section 174 CrPC were initiated at concerned police station and body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for identification/ post mortem.
