NEW DELHI, July 27:
The Government today said that a Bill will be soon brought in Parliament to hold Board examinations in Class V and VIII.
Replying during Question Hour in the Rajya Sabha, Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar said this was being done at the behest of 24 State Governments which favoured reversal of the no-detention policy for school students.
Responding to supplementaries, the Minister said that the Government has started a comprehensive campaign to improve the level of education.
Mr Javadekar said this was part of continuous evaluation system and it was up to the states to decide if they wanted to conduct Board examinations in Class V and VIII. (PTI)
