DIG Traffic Shakeel Ahmed Beig and SSP Traffic City Jammu were present during Camp.
DIG Traffic, while addressing the gathering, urged the parents not to compromise with security and safety of their school going children. Though Traffic Department has recently launched a special drive against the auto rikshaw drivers indulging in overloading and challaned more than 1000 auto rikshaws for traffic violations, however it is the responsibility of their parents not to engage such irresponsible auto-rikshaws or Maruti vans.
He urged upon the parents to park their vehicles in a systematic manner near schools as it is not practically possible to deploy traffic jawans everywhere. They must exhibit proper discipline keeping in view the security and convenience of other children and commuters. The authorities were asked to ensure fitness of their school buses with trained drivers to ensure safety and security of the students.
