They said that during the last protest the authorities of PDD had assured to install the transformer within day but to no avail forcing the people to come to streets again today.
They criticized the Deputy Chief Minister and Executive Engineer PDD Kathua for not taking pains in restoring the transformer in the village. They said the DyCM who belongs to the Kathua district has totally ignored it.
The people said that the power crisis besides adding to the miseries of the villagers in this hot and humid Summer have also affected the farmers rendering the paddy fields totally dry as the irrigation pumps have become totally defunct due to power failure.
They warned to intensify agitation in case the transformer was not installed within a day. They said that the Deputy Chief Minister had earlier assured a separate feeder for irrigation purposes but nothing was done in this regard too and the PDD authorities are totally ignoring the problem.
Later, the tehsildar and SDPO visited the area and assured that the transformer will be installed by this evening. On this assurance the people dispersed.
