POONCH, July 6: A villager was died in an incident of lightning in the higher reaches of Saujian village in Mandi tehsil of district Poonch today.
The police identified the deceased as middle aged, Javed Ahmed, son of Said Mohammed, resident of remote Barari village in Saujian. He had gone to Pathri Dhok along with his cattle and some family members. There was rain and thunderstorm in the area today. Suddenly, a strong beam of light from the sky hit him, causing his instant death. The family reported the matter to Mandi police this afternoon.
