Security forces fully capable to deal with situation: Dr Jitendra

JAMMU, June 17: Asse-rting that every step is being taken to contain the Pakistan sponsored terrorism in J&K, Union Minister in PMO with Independent charge of North Eastern States, Dr Jitendra Singh today said that Indian security forces are capable enough to deal with the situation and “we should not doubt their capability”.
Talking to reporters at the sidelights of a party programme organized in connection with completion of three years of Modi Government and to highlight various developmental and welfare projects launched in his Kathua -Udhampur-Doda Parliamentary constituency during this period,  Dr Jitendra Singh denied that terrorist activities have increased in Valley during the present Government but maintained that they (terrorists) are on run and they are now changing strategy and targeting forces and police men in desperation.
“The Government is having full control over the situation and the forces are also changing their strategy accordingly and retaliating the terrorist attacks with full might”, he added.
He said the terrorists, who are making attacks in desperation, want to make their presence felt as they are on run but the forces are also countering them and chasing them to finish. Giving security forces full credit, the Union Minister said  “you can’t underestimate their capacity and capability and the Government is in full control of the situation”. He expressed the hope that sooner or later the terrorists will be wiped out and normalcy restored in strife -torn Valley.
In response to a question on increasing terror attacks, he said “the terrorists, who are under tremendous pressure from security forces and police, are adopting the different strategies and when one option gets exhausted they adopt the other”.

“Moreover I have nothing to say more than what  DG has already said in this regard”, he added.
On the ceasefire violation by Pakistan and shelling in the border areas, Dr Jitendra Singh said  “we are giving a befitting reply and every one knows that the retaliation shown by Indian forces during the present Government was never seen earlier”.
In response to a question as to whether the Government of India lost control over Kashmir in view of   terror attacks on police men in the Valley, Dr Jitendra Singh said the Government has taken a harsh stand against the separatists and anti national elements and action has been already initiated against them under the law of the land.
On the support given to secessionists by some mainstream parties in Kashmir, the Union  Minister said that these parties have now also realized that the policy of disadvantage can’t pay dividends any more as media is so powerful now and this being the era of evidence they  (politicians) can no longer befool the masses by giving one statement in Srinagar, another in Jammu and third in Delhi.
On the threat perception to holy Amarnath yatra starting from June 29 this month, Dr Jitendra Singh said smooth conduct of the yatra is every body’s concern. “This yatra is symbol of our composite culture being run from centuries together so every one irrespective of his religion wants that the yatra should be conducted smoothly”.
Expressing hope that every one will cooperate in this yatra, he said while Hindus come for pilgrimage, the arrangements for the yatra are made by Muslims.
On the International Yoga Day, Dr Singh said its celebration across 143 countries of the world is the greatest achievement of Narendra Modi Government.
Later addressing the party programme, the Union Minister said with organizing such programme in which the account of three years achievements is being given before the partymen is the beginning of a new work culture in the State.
On the occasions, a book on developmental programmes launched in Udhampur -Doda and Kathua was also released by him and senior RSS leader Parshotam Dadichi.
Dr Jitendra Singh said when Narendra Modi took oath of his office he made a declaration at that time that his Government is dedicated to poor.
Highlighting the new projects initiated by him in his Constituency, he said Devika Conservation, sanction of Rs 3500 crore Chattargala Tunnel in Bhadarwah, Biotech Park in Ghatti Kathua, Seed Procession plant in Kathua, Keriyan Gandyal bridge over river Ravi, national Corridor from Delhi to holy city of Katra to link another holy city of Amritsar in Punjab, Radio Station and Passport Office in Udhampur, Weather Forecasting Station in Sanji Chat Katra, War Memorial in Reasi, new KVs sanctioned at various places in his Constituency, laying of foundation stones of Medical Colleges, sanction of Engineering College for Kathua, inauguration of Chenani-Nashri Tunnel, Katra Railway Station by PM and AtalSethu in Basholi by then Union Defense Minister are among various achievements of the three years’ tenure.
Maintaining that there is no dearth of funds from the Union Government Dr Jitendra Singh said that the delay in submission of the DPRs from the State Government is causing hurdle in sanctioning of the projects.
Asking the people to take the advantage of Central Government schemes, he said there are 19 such schemes on which no investment is needed. Under Swachh Bharat, 100 locations were identified while Rs 2700 crore were brought for the Constituency under PMGSY to construct the roads pending for 10 years.
He said 1120 toilet blocks are under construction in border belt while Jammu Yuva-vani  which was going to be closed in 2014 was restored.
He said it is the duty of the partymen to make public aware of these schemes from time to time.
Later addressing the function, RSS senior leader Parshotam Dadichi said that Modi has become a popular leader of the nation for his farsightedness. He asked the partymen that they should work in close coordination with Dr Jitendra Singh  and become part of the developmental programme launched by him in his constituency.
Earlier, senior BJP leader Sanjeev Sharma through power point presentation threw light on various developmental projects started by Dr Jitendra Singh in his Constituency. Senior BJP leaders and representatives from various districts and constituencies were present in the programme.
