RAJOURI, Oct 24: The Deputy General Officer Commanding, 25 Infantry Division flagged in a nine-day Educational-cum Motivational tour, organised for the girl students of Rajouri and Poonch sector, to Delhi, Kota and Jaipur.
The flag-in ceremony was conducted at Raina Auditorium, here today.
The tour was conducted by the Army under ‘Operation Sadbhavana’ and its aim was to showcase the development of the country to the girl students belonging to remote and far flung areas of the district, besides providing them an opportunity to visit important places of interest and to interact with the eminent personalities.
The tour meant for 23 girls and two teachers was flagged off on October 15, 2012 and during the course of time, the students visited Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Bangla Sahib, India Gate, Lotus Temple, Qutub Minar, Rashtrapati Bhawan, Nehru Planetarium, Delhi Haat and Doll Museum in Delhi while in Kota they visited Kota Fort, Army Aqua Node and other places of interest.
In Jaipur they visited Jahangir Fort, Nahargarh Fort, Jal Mahal, Hawa Mahal and Jag Mandir. They also took a ride of the famed Delhi Metro service in Delhi.
