KATHUA, June 16: The people of Billawar took out a victory procession and rejoiced the grant of powers of Additional DCs to SDMs of Billawar and Basholi.
The procession passed through main markets upto SDM’s Office and said that the grant of ADC powers to SDM Billawar is great milestone in the struggle of the people for grant of full fledged district status to Billawar.
The procession was led by BJP leaders Narayan Dutt Tripathi and Omesh Basotra. They while addressing the gathering said their next target is grant of district status to Billawar.
Lashing out at opposition leaders especially Congress they said the party never supported the grant of district status to Billawar when the new districts for the State were created during the tenure of Ghulam Nabi Azad as Chief Minister.
They said even opposition had never kept the demand for grant of Sub Division to Billawar.
