Nine -day long Navratra festival concludes with immersion of Saakh

JAMMU, Oct 23: The nine -day long Navratra festival concluded with Durga Pooja, Hawan and immersion of Saakh in various rivers throughout the Jammu region today.
All the temples of Goddess Durga were fully decorated during the festival period and there was heavy rush of devotees in them daily.
The Saakh, which is sown on the first day of Navratra by the devotees in their respective houses and temples was immersed today in different rivers and canals after the Kanjak Poojan.
There was heavy rush of devotees on the river Tawi near BC road, on Ranbir Canal right from Mishriwala to its tail and on river Chenab at Akhnoor who were busy in immersion of Saakh.
On the occasion of Maha Navmi hundreds of devotees of Mata Sharda paid obeisance to Goddess at Udhampur today. A grand charri yatra of Goddess was taken from Bus Stand Udhampur and it moved from all areas of the town. The devotees, singing bhakti songs also danced to the beating of drums. The yatra concluded at Sharda Mata Temple Jhakeni Udhampur later. The temple is situated in the trunk of a black berry tree. The yatra was flagged off by SSP Udhampur Ashkoor Wani and it was led by Mantana Bhagat its organizer.
Meanwhile, the Maha Yagyas were held in various temples during the festival period and concluding ceremony was performed today. The devotees were served with prashad after Puranahuti.
The nine day long celebrations of Navratra festival concluded at Gokul Dham, Ambica Vihar, Gole Gujral today. Besides the daily hawan and Bhajan Kirtan, religious discourses on the importance of Navratra festival were given by Swami Gokul Nath Ji and Guru Mata Sheela Ji.
Hundreds of devotees thronged the Ashram during the festival period and also performed the Gufa Darshan of Mata Vaishno. Social activities also continued in the Ashram with distribution of uniforms, stationery and other items among the needy and poor children. A drawing competition was also held and winners were given prizes. Later the Saakh was taken into a procession to river Chanderbagha Akhnoor for immersion.
To inculcate the moral and spiritual aspirations among the masses, Bhagavaan Gopinathji Trust Udaiwala Bohri organised eight day long spiritual activity in connection with Navratra festival in its Ashram premises.
Thousands of devotees thronged the Ashram from October 16 till today early in the morning to take part in religious activities. They participated in performance of Hawan and over three crore mantras were recited during these auspicious days for invoking the blessings of Mother Goddess. The hawan started on the evening of October 15 and Puranhauti was performed today which was followed by serving of prashad to devotees.
Nine day long Navratra festival was also celebrated with full religious fervour and enthusiasm in Swami Kumar Ji Geeta Satsang Ashram Muti. Bhajan, Kirtan and Pooja were the highlights of the programme..
Swami Kumar Ji gave religious discourses highlighting the nine forms of Goddess Durga and their significance. A large number of devotees and saints participated in the programme.
The nine -day long function also culminated at Sharika Peeth Sansthan Subash Nagar Jammu with solemnization of Maha Yagya today. A large number of devotees attended the concluding function and they were served with prashad after Puranahuti.

The nine day long function also culminated at Pushkara Swami Sewa Ashram Laxmi Nagar Chinore today with Pushp Archana. A large number of devotees attended the function.
On the occasion of Durga Ashram yesterday the Murthi Sathapana was held at Mata Kheer Bhawani Asthapan Jagti in Lane No 27.
A Maha Yagya also commenced in the evening which concluded with Puranahuti this afternoon. A large number of devotees attended the function and they were served with Prashad after Puranahuti.
Relief Commissioner, R K Pandita, KPC chief Kundan Kashmiri  and KP Sabha president K K Khosa were among others who participated in concluding function. The function was organised by Ashtapan Committee led by Kaka Ji Bhan.
Nine day long Navratra festival celebrations also concluded at Mata Bhadarkali temple in Vadpura Handwara in Kashmir Valley with Puranahauti of Maha Yagya today. A large number of devotees visited the holy temple form Jammu and other parts of Kashmir Valley to participate in the celebrations. The function was organised by the Temple Committee led by B L Pandita advocate. The devotees were served with prashad after puranahuti.
On the occasion of Maha Navmi Bhandara was organised by Nagbal Prabhandak Committee at Devi Bal and Nagbal Anantnag respectively today under the supervision of Mahant Mahraj Krishan Ji and Swami Ganesh Dass. Bhandara was also held at Tutla Bhagwati asthapan Anatnag on the occasion.
