RAMBAN, May 19: Police arrested a man for duping an ATM user of Rs 17,000.
As per police sources, Ghulam Mohammad, son of Mohammad Sultan of Sumber had gone to withdraw cash from an ATM here, where a person identified as Altaf Ahmed, son of Abdul Latief of Chanderkote introduced himself to Ghulam as bank employee and helped him to withdraw the cash.
Later, Ghulam Mohammad came to know that Altaf Ahmed had withdrawn Rs 17,000 from his account and he reported the matter to police.
Acting swiftly, a team from Ramban police station led by SHO Inspector Naveen Angral arrested the accused and recovered the cash.
A case under FIR Number 54/17 under Section 420 RPC has been registered against the accused at Ramban police station and investigation started.
