JAMMU, Apr 22: Sikh United Front (J&K) has condemned the recent attacks on some Kashmiri students in Rajasthan and other places in the country and said that Govt should take effective measures for the safety of these students.
Talking to media-persons at a joint press conference here today, S S Wazir, former president State Gurdwara Parbandhak Board said that recent incidents with regard to targeting Kashmiri students in various parts of the country are not good. It will create disturbances and lawlessness across the country.
Mr Wazir, who was accompanied by several other leaders of various Sikh bodies, further said that this problem has been faced mostly in the BJP rules States. He said Mewar in Rajasthan is one of the worst example of attack and harassment to Kashmiri students. It has been observed that such problem are much in BJP ruled States, he added.
” It is ironic to note that after these ugly developments Home Minister Rajnath Singh had to come on TV saying that Kashmiris are citizens of the country and advisories have been issued to all the states to check such kind of activities in Educational institutions and other places,” Wazir said.
He also referred to killing of a person from the other community in Rajasthan by the `Gau Raksha Dal’ members. He said that people of this country believe in secularism and brotherhood but some forces are hell bet to disturb the age old traditions of amity.
