Opting physiotherapy means opting better future: Dr Narinder

JAMMU, Oct 17: Opting physiotherapy means opting for better future with an opportunity to serve society in a noble way.
This was stated by Dr Narinder Pal, Principal, Jammu College of Physiotherapy, during a press conference, here this afternoon.
He said that physiotherapist treats people with physical disorders resulting from injury, disease, ageing or birth abnormalities. They have a major role in treating orthopedic and neurological disorders and in sports injuries, he said.
Dr Narinder Pal said physiotherapists are needed in hospital setups, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, orthopedics and Neurological Departments, Intensive Care Departments, in schools for mentally challenged and disabled people, in defence establishments such as Air Force, Army, etc, in Police Departments and even various corporate sectors.
He added that after getting Master Degree in Physiotherapy, one can opt for teaching field and join any physiotherapy college or university, adding, that one can pursue higher degree of PhD and get in to research field.
Physiotherapists can be self-employed and also employ other people by means of their own clinical establishments and also by means of treating patients on private basis, he said, adding, that they can also open their own fitness centres.
Physiotherapists are in great demand in developed countries like USA, Canada, Great Britain, Australia, UAE and many other countries, where their number is much less in comparison to demand, he added.
