This is in reference to the letter “Garbage town” written by Amir Mishra. There is no doubt about it that garbage dumping is a very serious problem in our cities and towns.
The concerned authorities are not at all serious about the said problem despite public cry.
Frankly speaking, people living in our cities and towns are also responsible for hapazard garbage heaps. People generally throw their domestic garbage on roads, lanes, drains and places of public importance.
In order to get rid of obnoxious smell and vitiating atmosphere the municipal administration needs to streamline the process of collecting, lifting and dumping of garbage properly in cities and towns.
Moreover, we should learn from the developed western countries how they get rid of garbage problem by coverting garbage into manure and fuel by utilizing the modern technology.
