NEW DELHI, Apr 10: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh has asked the BJP candidates for Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) election to reach out to the youth because it is the young voter who will play a decisive role in the upcoming elections.
Dr Jitendra Singh, who held a series of formal and informal interactions with the BJP candidates and Election Incharges of the Municipal wards falling in district Naveen Shahdara and district Northeast Delhi, said that we have stepped into the election campaign with a firm resolve that we are going to win and the only issue now left is how to optimally strategize the success story of this victory. He said, even though daily reporting of each day’s campaigning is important, however, we should bear in mind that the proceedings in each of these meetings is brief and to the point, without repetition so that each one of us has sufficient time to devote to campaigning in the field.
Describing the Municipal Council Poll to be held on April 23 as a very significant event politically for a variety of reasons, Dr Jitendra Singh said, on the one hand this election is happening in the midst of BJP’s serial victory spree and on the other hand, it involves the national capital of India. He said, each one of us should consider himself as a candidate personally and campaign as if this is a personal election with personal stake. The official candidate nominated by the party is only symbolic, he said, because the fact that is each one of us has a stake in this election.
As the day of polling approaches closer, Dr Jitendra Singh said, the focus will be more and more on Booth management and the booth workers whom our National President Amit Shah has aptly given the nomenclature of “Panch Parmeshwar”.
Even though the last date of withdrawal nomination papers is over, Dr Jitendra Singh said, he is hopeful that most of the candidates who have filed nomination as Independent candidates, will declare their support in favour of BJP’s official candidates. The cake is too big, he said, and there will be a respectable slot to engage each one of the party members including those who were aspirants for party mandate but somehow could not make it.
