JAMMU, Apr 8: Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) today held a protest against Municipal Corporation Jammu and BJP-PDP coalition Government for worst sanitation conditions in Jammu city.
A large number activists of JWAM as well as local residents and traders of New Plot under the leadership of JWAM president, Sunil Dimple, assembled on High Court Road near New Plot and raised slogans against the State Government, Housing Urban Development Ministry and Municipal Corporation Jammu (JMC) for prevailing worst sanitation condition in the winter capital of the State. The protesters disrupted vehicular traffic on the ever busy road for quite some time.
Addressing the protesters, Dimple alleged the whole City of Temples has been converted into the city of garbage dumps just due to the negligent and arrogant attitude of the Government, which is misleading the poor Safai Karamcharies since long.
He extended full support to the agitating Safai Karamcharies unions and demanded the Government to pay at least Rs 10, 000 salary per month to the Safari Karmcharies till they are regularized. Dimple said that how the Jammu will become smarty city when the condition of main roads, lanes and drains is so miserable.
