PDP-BJP stirring communal sentiments in Pir Panjal region: Rana

MENDHAR, Apr 8: Senior National Conference leader and MLA Mendhar, Javed Ahmed Rana, today deplored the indifferent and disinterested attitude of PDP-BJP dispensation towards people of Pir Panjal region that has hit the pace of developmental activities in the area.
Addressing people from Gholad, Suyian-Dhargloon and adjoining villages of Balakote in grievances redressal camps, the MLA said both the coalition partners are vulgarly pursuing dangerous agendas to create their own spheres of influence on casteist and communal lines while putting the developmental process to an absolute halt. “Instead of executing the repeatedly promised development agenda of alliance, the coalition has earned notoriety for craftily developing a dangerous communal divide in the region,” he said.
Highlighting the coalition’s apathy towards people of Pir Panjal region, the senior NC leader said inspite of the humanitarian crisis created by frequent LoC skirmishes leading to civilian casualties; this Government has not even bothered to come up with any rehabilitation plan to save the precious lives.
Referring to the ensuing Panchayat elections, Rana appealed to the people to dislodge the political formation that has embarked upon a conscious plan to hit at the roots of JK’s pluralistic ethos by pushing in the socio-cultural agenda of a fascist organization under the garb of development sloganeering.
The MLA listened to various problems of the people and also took stock of the progress on development works in Suyian-Dhargloon. Issues pertaining to different departments were discussed in the camp.
The MLA assured that the concerned officers will be instructed and held accountable for regular monitoring of development works and for adopting proactive approach to address genuine problems of the people in Mendhar Sub-division.
Officers of different departments, several sitting Sarpanchs including Shabir Khan, Asgar Ali Khan, Noor Ahmed, Nazir Ahmed, Tanvir Ahmed, Iqbal Khan, Aftab Khan, Shujaat Ullah Khan besides people from adjoining villages of Suyian-Dhargloon participated in the camp.
