RAJOURI, Apr 8: The people from several villages blocked Jammu-Rajouri-Poonch road at Kallar near Bathuni today and staged protest demonstration against the Government.
They were protesting against non-restoration of a foot- bridge near Kallar which was washed away during 2014 floods. The villagers alleged that population of over 2000 souls is suffering due to non-restoration of this foot bridge. The people are facing lot of hardships during rain and flood in nallah. They are unable to pass through the flooded nullah and get struck on that side.
The movement of vehicles remained stranded on this busy highway for long. Later, senior officers from District Administration reached there and they pacified the agitating people. The traffic was then restored after assurance from the District Administration.
