Woman jumps into Chenab, rescued by boatman

JAMMU, Apr 3: A married woman today jumped into River Chenab in Akhnoor area but was rescued by a boatman.
“A woman identified as Roshi Gosani (44), wife of Jai Krishen of Janipur Colony, this afternoon jumped in River Chenab from Jia Pota Ghat, Akhnoor,” a police spokesman here said.
However, he said, the woman was safely rescued from the river by a local boatman, who saw her jumping into the river. “The woman was depressed with some domestic issues and therefore decided to commit suicide”, the spokesman said, adding, the family members of the woman were called and the lady was handed over to them.
