KISHTWAR, Mar 20: Member Civil Society Kishtwar and former Secretary Youth Congress Shamsher Singh Bhandari has reiterated his demand regarding four lanning of Batote Kishtwar Highway by handing over it to National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) in view of the bad condition of this road.
He said people of districts of Kishtwar as well as Doda are put to many hardships due to closure of road on account of shooting stones in bad weather or soil erosion. The road is closed for last four days and the authorities are unable to restore it. He said no proper attention has been so far given in four-lanning of this road despite the fact that it is totally in dilapidated condition.
Bhandari who took up the issue with DC Kishtwar and Executive Engineer R&B Kishtwar also urged them that concerned agencies should ensure speedy restoration of the road as the people especially students are suffering a lot. He said even the patients in case of emergency can’t be shifted to Medical College of Jammu for specialized treatment in view of closure of the road.
