Ex-BMO among 4 arrested by Vigilance

SRINAGAR, Mar 17: Vigilance Organization Kashmir arrested four persons including a former Block Medical Officer (BMO) in funds misappropriation cases.
As per official sources, the sleuths of Vigilance Organization Kashmir arrested Dr Fayaz Ahmad Banday, Ex BMO Beerwah, Mushtaq Ahmad Parray, cashier and Zahoor Ahmad Banday, Pharmacist of Block Medical Office Beerwah in funds misappropriation case registered with police station VOK under FIR Number 26/14 under Section 5(1) (c) r/w 5(2) J&K P.C Act Samvat 2006 and section 120/B RPC.
The accused during the year 2008 to 2011 have misappropriated Government funds to the tune of Rs 1.54 crore meant for salary of employees and for implementation of different schemes.
Meanwhile, Vigilance Organization Kashmir has arrested Sajad Ahmad Mir, the then Warden Kastooba Gandhi Balika Vidiyalaya (KGBV) Boniyar in the funds misappropriation case registered with VOK under FIR Number 29/14 under Section P.c. Act-2006 r/w Section 120-B RPC.
The accused had misappropriated Government funds to the tune of Rs 25 lakh during the financial year 2013-14.
Further investigation into the cases is going on.
