JAMMU, Mar 10: Income Tax Department today targeted yet another town of Jammu region and carried out three surveys in Reasi district.
Official sources told EXCELSIOR that on the basis of information received from the banks regarding huge cash deposits post-demonetization, the sleuths of Income Tax Department conducted surveys in the premises of wholesale cigarette dealer, cement dealer and an electronics franchise at Reasi.
During the surveys, the IT sleuths laid hands on several incriminating documents which established that these traders were still indulging in concealment of income despite depositing huge cash in their respective bank accounts between November 9 and December 31, 2016.
As already reported by EXCELSIOR, the Income Tax Department will continue surveys till March 31, 2017, which is the last date for availing Prime Minister’s Garib Kalyan Yojana (PMGKY).
