BSNL pensioners highlight demands

JAMMU, Dec 31: Pensioners of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and Department of Telecom (DOT), J&K Circle, Jammu today highlighted their demands in its monthly meeting held here under the chairmanship of SN Kalloo, district president, Jammu.
In the meeting, speakers highlighted the long pending grievances of the pensioners in J&K Telecom Circle. They rued the department’s biased attitude towards the pensioners and elderly persons, who are in their eighties/nineties and the willful/dilatory tactics adopted by the administration in resolving their genuine grievances for which the pensioners association has already served a notice to sit-in-starvation with candle light in front of CGMT chamber/office.
Their legitimate demands include settlement of thousands of fake, fictitious, exaggerated and untransparent telephone bills issued to the hundreds of BSNL and DOT pensioners in J&K, revision of pension of BSNL pensioners, settlement of indoor medical reimbursement claims as per the policy/procedure and time limits fixed by the BSNL Corporate Office and empanelment of hospitals for cashless medical treatment.
Those who spoke on the occasion were HR Gupta, All India vice-president BDPA (I), BL Bhat, Circle Secretary, J&K Circle, RN Mattoo, district secretary, Jammu.
