JAMMU, Dec 29: Team of Deputy Controller Drugs and Food Control Organization conducted surprise inspection of various retail sale outlets of medicines in rural pockets of Jammu and suspended operations of ten establishments for violation of various provisions of Drug and Cosmetics Act, besides lifting drug samples to ascertain their quality.
Those establishments, whose operations were suspended, included M/s Public Medical Hall, Dansal; M/s Shiva Medical Hall, Dansal; M/s Hari Om Medicate, Narwala Bala; M/s Wani Medicos, Narwal; M/s Sangotra Medical Hall, Dansal; M/s Sharma Pharmacy, Narwal; M/s Bandral Pharmacy, Mishriwala; M/s Gupta Medical Hall, Mishriwala; M/s Ashish Medical Hall, Kangrail and M/s Gupta Medicos, Mishriwala.
The team of Drug Inspectors, headed by Mohd Iqbal Palla, Licensing Authority Jammu, under the supervision of Controller Lotika Khajuria, also lifted more than 30 statutory drug samples of various formulations vis Antibiotics, PPI, Steroid NSAIDs etc and sent the same to State Drug Testing Laboratories for framing legal opinion to ascertain their quality parameters.
Show cause notices were also issued to various establishments viz M/s Neha Medical Hall, Narwal; M/s Ganesh Medical Hall, Kangrail and M/s Sonu Medical Hall, Mishriwala for carrying out their operations without the services of approved qualified person besides committing breaches of the provisions of Drug and Cosmetics Act 1940 and rules there under.
