JAMMU, Dec 29: SKUAST- Teaching Association Jammu (SKUAST-TAJ) has shown its human facet by extending helping hand to an ailing non teaching employee, working in the Faculty of Agriculture, who is going through his tough times.
According to TAJ-president Dr Vikas Sharma, the particular employee is undergoing surgical treatment regarding thrombosis of blood vessels / arteries in one of the reputed hospitals at Amritsar. In this regard, teaching association handed over a cheque amounting Rs 50,000 to Dr D P Abrol. Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, SKUAST Jammu. Dr Vikas informed that the teaching association was in possession of enough amount to provide financial support to the teachers, non teaching staff and students as and when they need it. He further informed that in the year 2015-16, SKUAST-TAJ extended financial aid of Rs 6.15 lakh to non teaching staff and students who were undergoing expensive life saving medical treatment in different Medical Institutions of the country.  Dr Abrol lauded efforts of the association in this regard and hoped that the association will continue with this humanitarian endeavor and the teachers will generously support the cause that the association has taken in its hand.
Dr Vivak M Arya, general secretary of the association, said that the condition of employee was stable and he was out of danger and improving day by day. Dr Pradeep Kumar Rai-joint secretary, Dr Devinder Sharma-publicity secretary, Dr Vinod Gupta- executive member from Rajouri, were also present on the occasion.
