JAMMU, Dec 26: Terming PDP-BJP coalition in the State as  total failure, former minister and senior Congress leader, Raman Bhalla today said that State Govt’s claim regarding development has proved to be a ‘cruel joke’.
Bhalla was addressing party workers’ during a function organized to distribute membership cards to new entrants at Trikuta Nagar Extension (Ambedkar Nagar) today. The programme was organized by Vijay Sharma,  Block president ( Ex- Corporator) and presided over by DCC Jammu Urban, president Anil Chopra.
While asking youth to play positive role in every sphere, Bhalla strongly maintained that the youth of a nation shape and mould its present and paves the way for its future. The young generation shoulders a huge responsibility of nation building.  It would be more accurate to say that the youth working in tandem with the Government decide the fate of a nation and its coming generations. It is, therefore, important that the voices of the youth get the right platform.
Bhalla further said that the Coalition Govt has failed to respect the mandate of the people as they made a complete ‘U-turn’ on their propagated policies and ideologies for the sake of sharing power which has exposed the “double standards” of two parties. Their sudden shift and surrender dismayed and disappointed their respective electorate besides exposing their hollow and false commitment to their slogans always used by them to hoodwink the people,” he said.
The Govt has failed to ensure delivery at the basic levels like availability of ration, power, health, education sector and unemployment. He said that the employees of different categories including teachers, daily wagers, casual and need- based workers and other such categories of people are regularly seen on protests for their just and genuine demands.
Congress leader alleged that the two parties have completely betrayed their respective electorates and every section of the society is facing great hardships due to the wrong policies of the present dispensation. Since these two parties joined hands, the miseries of Jammu and Kashmir have increased manifold.
