Upper reaches witness first snowfall in Bhaderwah

JAMMU: Upper reaches of picturesque Bhaderwah town in Doda district today witnessed the season’s first snowfall ringing end to a long dry spell.

Snowfall was witnessed in Kailash mountain range, Asha Pati, Seoj Dhar, Chattar Gali, Dheraja, Mothala, Thanala and in the upper reaches of Bhaderwah town, leading to sudden drop in temperature forcing people to wear warm clothes to protect themselves from chilly winds.

Bhaderwah town and its adjoining areas experienced rain late last night ending the long dry spells which had resulted in considerable drop in the mercury and cold related diseases, including chest infection, headache, fever and body pain.

“It is not unusual, as the snowfall  was expected any time around and other parts of hilly regions,” said an official. Temperature dipped from normal after fresh spell of snowfall. (AGENCIES)
