RAJOURI, Nov 24: A musical concert was held at Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Rajouri in which various eminent singers from across the State participated and performed for the students, faculty and staff of the University.
The program commenced at the football ground on the campus, with the performance of ‘University Tarana’, by a team of girl students. The program was organised by the J &K Academy of Art, Cultural and Languages to promote the art and culture of the State. Professor Javed Musarrat, Vice Chancellor, BGSBU was the chief guest on the occasion. The programme was held in a cordial atmosphere wherein various artists mesmerized the audiences with their talent.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Musarrat thanked the J&K Academy of Art, Cultural and Languages for bringing such talented artists to BGSBU and presenting such a wonderful programme. He further said that such type of events should keep on happening in the University as such co-curricular activities are necessary for the students along with their regular studies as these break the monotony.
He further added that in the near future more such events where the students of BGSBU shall be participating, will be organized here to discover and encourage the talent of University students.
Among the main artists who performed where Waheed Jeelani, Gulzar Ganaie, Raja Bilal, Sarvar Gulgami and Kifayat Faheem. The prominent dignitaries present on the occasion included Shabir Bhat- Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri; Prof Mohammad Asger, Dean of Students BGSBU, Dr Javed Rahi, Chief Editor J&K Academy of Art Cultural and Languages, Ms Farhad Lone special officer for cultural activities, J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages.
