JAMMU, Nov 21: The contractual workers of Indian Institute of Integrative Medicines (IIIM), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Canal Road Jammu, held a protest demonstration here today.
The protest was held under the banner of Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) in front of the office of Controlling Officer Administration against illegal dismissal of workers engaged for the last more than 15 to 20 years. The workers were carrying red flags and placards in hands and shouting slogans against the authorities. They were opposing the illegal termination of workers.
Several Trade Union leaders including S P Kesar criticized the Government for the exploitation of the workers and said that they were made to pay on meager wages and now they are being terminated without valid reason. They warned to intensify their agitation.
