JAMMU, Nov 21: Former MLA Billawar and senior Congress leader Dr Manohar Lal Sharma assailed the BJP leadership for launching misleading compaign over the statement of top AICC leader Congress Gulam Nabi Azad and termed it as a planned step to divert the attention of the people from the basic issues.
In a press statement Dr Sharma said the party and its leadership supports the statement of Azad because he had said rightly and exposed the real position prevailing in the country in general and on borders in particular due to the heavy shelling by Pakistan. Dr Sharma said the ceasefire violation and trans- border terrorism which is increased manifold is all due to the total failure of foreign policy of BJP Government.
He further alleged that Modi Government and BJP leadership is acting as dictators, trying to suppress the voice of general public as well as the Opposition which is totally against the basic principles of healthy democracy. The wrong interpretation of Azad’s statement who is Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha is the current example of misleading the nation by campaigning through different means of communication which is very unfortunate.
Dr Sharma asked the Government to clear its stand on the unfortunate death of more than 70 innocent people while standing in queues to exchange the currency in banks and ATM’s throughout the country.
