17 bovine animals rescued

JAMMU, Nov 21: Kud Police today rescued 13 bovine animals and seized the truck, in which these animals were being smuggled to Kashmir, while 4 animals were rescued in Arnas.
Acting on reliable information, a Police Party from Police Station Kud, laid a surprise naka and intercepted one truck bearing registration number JK02AE-3911, which was on way towards Kashmir.
During  thorough search, the truck was found loaded with 13  bovine animals, which  were rescued. Police  also seized the truck even as its driver managed to escape from the spot. In this connection,  a case has been registered at Police Station Kud.
Meanwhile, reports from Arnas said that 4 bovine animals were rescued at Bassan when the accused smuggler was taking these animals to Kashmir in a Tata Mobile, bearing registration number JK20-7812. Police also arrested the accused smuggler, identified as Mohd Nissar of Kund, Mahore.
