JAMMU, Nov 7: Speaker Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta along with Deputy Speaker Nazir Ahmed Gurezi inspected various sections in Assembly Secretariat and took stock of the arrangements made for smooth functioning on re-opening of the offices in Winter Capital after Annual Durbar Move, here today.
They visited administrative, hospitality and protocol, stationary, translation, accounts legislation sections. They also visited library and enquired about the functioning of the section.
The Speaker also interacted with the Heads of the Branches and officials and enquired about their working.
The Speaker instructed the Secretary, Assembly Secretariat to sort out the problems of Assembly employees, if any, faced by them enabling them to discharge their duties without any inconvenience.
The Speaker asked him to ensure conduct of financial and other committee meetings well in time. He also instructed the concerned to seek Action Taken Reports to time from the departments and ensure that the directions given by these Committees are implemented on ground.
Secretary Assembly, Mohammad Ramzan and other officers accompanied the Speaker and Deputy Speaker during their inspection.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Chairman, Legislative Council, Jahangir Hussain Mir inspected various wings of Council Secretariat and took stock of the arrangements made for smooth functioning of these offices.
During the inspection, Mir was accompanied by the Member Legislative Council, Ramesh Arora, Secretary, Legislative Council, Abdul Majeed Bhat and other senior officers.
Deputy Chairman inspected various sections of the Council which include administration, committee, stock, translation, accounts, legislation, question, library and public and publication sections.
Mir interacted with the officials of all the sections and stressed upon them to maintain cleanliness in the Council premises. He also instructed the Secretary, Legislative Council to sort out the problems of Council employees, if any, faced by them so that they can perform their duties without any inconvenience.
