JAMMU, Nov 5: Retired police personnel held protest here today and projected their demands.
Large number of retired police personnel assembled near Exhibition Ground under the banner of All J&K Retd Police Personnel NGO and ORS Forum and held protest. They raised slogans in favour of their demands.
While addressing the protestors, Ajit Singh, President of the Forum demanded effect of the Govt order No 229-F of 2014 dated 17-10-2014 at least from 1996, enhancement of medical allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 3000 and provision of healthcare policy on the lines of Army and other paramilitary forces.
He also demanded 15 per cent reservation for wards of police personnel in recruitment in Police Department and for admission in professional courses, sanctioned of marriage fund amounting to Rs 50,000 at the time of marriage of their wards from Police Welfare Fund, sanction of Rs 50,000 for performing last rites of retired police personnel at the time of their deaths, issue ordinance regarding One Rank One Person and Rs 1 crore should be provided to the families of the martyrs.
“Finance Department should sought clarification from the Director General of Police regarding pay anomalies of retiree ASIs and HCs and 7th Pay Commission should be implemented in favour of J&K State employees like other State”, Singh demanded.
District Presidents, who were present in the protest were Mohammad Maqsood, Mohammad Sharif, Satpal Sharma, Triloki Nath Koul, Ranjeet Singh, Manzoor Ahmed, Hari Singh, Tarlok Singh, Jawant Singh and others.
