Road blockade outside Jammu Civil Secretariat

Sir,
The objections raised by Dogra Sadar Sabha members for lifting the blockade outside Civil Secretariat Jammu during Durbar Move (winters) is totally justified and needs to be considered seriously for mitigating the problems of the common masses.
In fact this action of blocking the road is totally unnecessary and uncalled for and is just an act of pleasing the masters by the so called security network. I do not understand who has thought of this unwanted step to block the road in the name of security cover and if they have then why they have left the other road adjoining the Janana Park open which is more vulnerable from the security point of view.
If we talk of threat perception just for comparison and no other reason, even a child can tell that threat perception is higher in Srinagar than in Jammu — the road outside Civil Secretariat Srinagar which is a six lane road is kept open round the year. Even if a lane of this road is blocked for security reasons it will not cause much problem as compared to the blocking of the two lane road outside Civil Secretariat Jammu but nothing of that sort is done in Srinagar.
Even from the security point of view this road is less dangerous than the one (Janana Park) which is being used at present by public for commuting. The main buildings are quite far from the main entrance gate on this road as compared to the one being used by public where the building is at stone’s throw distance. If someone has to do a mischief it would be easier on the other road.
If we analyze this technically the blockage cause huge traffic jams from Kachi Chawni to Parade and further to Shalamar and up to Indira Chowk thus causing huge inconvenience to the public without any fault of theirs as the secretariat road is the only alternate road available to the parade route. The people who have to visit Ranbireshwar Temple or who want to avoid the rush of Parade or the ones who live in old city and have to move from Shalamar to Kachi Chawni to CPO chowk area take this route but when this is also blocked it leads to traffic chaos in the old city area thus choking the other arteries available for commuting.
On the contrary if a road has to be necessarily blocked, though it is not required at all, then the Janana park road should be blocked by creating a special gate on that road as it is more vulnerable from security point of view. It has only one additional building on its route and that too is a Government building whose entrance can be changed to the other side.
In fact a viable and logical solution would be to open this road permanently with a condition that no vehicle shall be allowed to stop in between Ranbireshwar temple chowk to Dogra hall and on the other hand the walls of the secretariat can be raised using hard metal sheets so that the view from outside is blocked.
This is just one of the solutions or viewpoint but much better solutions could be found out by involving the prominent citizens of Jammu and other stakeholders. Hope some fair sense of justice and social responsibility shall prevail on the decision makers.
Yours etc…..
