JAMMU, Nov 2: Ayurvedic Society for Health Awareness [ASHA], the unique non-governmental organization of its type met here today to discuss awareness, practice and perception of Ayurveda in the State. The meeting was attended by Dr T R Gupta, S K Gupta, B K Kohali, Ashok Kaul besides Dr H N Patwari and Vikram Gour -president and patron respectively.
In a resolution, ASHA appreciated Modi Government for its decision to establish independent Ministry for the meaningful and purposeful propagation of Ayurveda along with declaring ‘Dhanwantri Jayanti’ as National Ayurveda Day.
It impressed upon State Government for immediate bifurcation of State level directorate and establishment of provincial directorates as recommended by State Finance Commission, making Government Ayurvedic College functional, which was sanctioned way back in year 2008, provision of administrative staff for newly created districts, provision of staff for 45 ISM institutions which are being managed single handedly since year 1982, improvisation of infra structure which has remained stagnant since last 35 year, regularization of 74- non-sanctioned dispensaries and 22- Ayush units functioning in various Allopathic institutions.
