VHP, JDS, NPP, Bar Association condemn cross-border firing by Pak

JAMMU, Nov 2: Vishaw Hindu Parishad (VHP) teams visited border areas and took stock of the problems, being faced by the people.
A team of VHP under the chairmanship of Leela Karan Sharma, State VHP President, Suresh Chander Working President, Shakti Dutt Sharma Secretary, Ajay Manhas Convener Hindu Helpline, Suresh Sharma Secretary Baba Yatri Niyas, Ratan Lal Mahajan and Rinku Sharma visited the border area of Pargwal village and condemned the cross border firing by Pakistan. The team interacted with the soldiers and also found that the morale of the soldiers is very high. The committee found that the people living in the border villages have great anger towards Pakistan who was involved in ceasefire violation on LoC and hitting the civil areas by mortar shells.
A team of VHP members under the chairmanship of senior VHP member Hem Raj Khajuria also visited the border area of RS Pura and interacted with the BSF soldiers and people residing nearby borders.
VHP requested the State Government that adequate arrangements for the people, who migrated from border areas, should be made so that they should not feel any hardship in the shelters made for them. Besides, adequate concrete bunkers should also be constructed in the border areas so that the civilians in emergency can take shelter there.
In a joint statement, leaders of Janta Dal Secular (JDS), Mast Nath Yogi, Kulbir Singh, Ranjay Bargotra, Bhagwati Saran Sharma, RR Sharma and Ram Rattan Sharma condemned the firing and shelling by Pakistan on LoC and IB in civil areas. They added that the evacuated families should be settled properly and free ration should be provided to them. Proper medical care should be provided to border firing and shelling victims, they said. JDS leaders also condemned the burning of schools in Kashmir by anti-national elements and demanded stern action against them.
Provincial President of National Panthers Party Rajesh Pargotra visited different areas on international border and took stock of the prevailing situation. During visit to Ramgarh sector, Pargotra visited the affected families and shared their grief. He demanded adequate compensation for the affected people. He asked the Government to pay Rs 5 lakh compensation to the injured persons and Rs 20 lakh to the families of the persons killed during the heavy shelling besides Government jobs to the next kin of the deceased. He also demanded 5 marlas plots at safer zones for the affected families. Pargotra also asked the Government to retaliate effectively to the Pakistani aggression to stop their misadventure. He also demanded special recruitment drive for the border youth in police, armed and other paramilitary forces.
Bar Association Samba in a meeting held under the chairmanship of its President Advocate Mohinder Singh condemned Pakistan for unprovoked shelling in the civilian areas of Ramgarh area. The members of the Bar Association Samba paid homage to the departed souls of the soldiers and the civilians, who had lost their lives in the cross border firing.
The members of the Bar Association Samba led by Mohinder Singh visited Chichi Mata and Government Middle School, Chatalla Camp, Samba where the affected people are taking the shelter. The people complained of inadequate facilities by the administration including ration, medical facilities, milk for minor children, bedding etc. The members of the Bar Association provided ration to the people and assured to take up their demands with the concerned authorities. Mohinder Singh said that Bar Association Samba is committed to the cause of the people and assured to provide them all the possible assistance. Advocates Raman Chalotra, Vice President, Rajesh Kumar Bhagat, Secretary, Vijay Gupta, Rahul Sambyal, Jitender Sharma and Ajay Gupta were also present. Bar Association Samba also suspended work for the day to pay homage to the martyrs.
