JAMMU, Oct 3: To discuss the arrangements for ensuing Navratra festival commencing from October 16, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Sanjeev Verma convened a meeting of senior officers and members of Navratra Festival Celebration Committee at Bahu Fort, here today.
Among others, Joint Director Information Jammu Soujanya Sharma, S.P. South Rajeshwar Singh, Additional SP Mahmood Ch, RTO Jammu Verender Slathia, G. M. JKSRTC S. S. Jamwal, XEn PHE Ashok Gandotra, and other senior officers attended the meeting.
It was informed in the meeting that Tourism Department is making special arrangements for the upcoming festivals of Navratra to attract the pilgrim tourists from across the country.
Verma enjoined upon the concerned departments to make adequate medical facilities, adequate security and traffic arrangements and provision for extra transportation for the convenience of the people during the festival days.
The Deputy Commissioner said that during the celebration of Navratra, we should also showcase the rich cultural heritage of Jammu region and all the steps are being taken by the administration and the organizers to make the event a grand success.
He stressed upon the various agencies involved in Navratra festival arrangements to make close coordination with each other for the successful conduct of the celebration.
The Deputy Commissioner had threadbare discussion on the arrangements for the ensuing Dushera festival with the officers and other concerned agencies.
