SRINAGAR: Governor N N Vohra today stressed the critical importance of a network of satisfactory roads being built to connect the remote and far flung areas of Ladakh.

An official spokesperson said that Minister for Cooperatives and Ladakh Affairs Chering Dorjay called on Mr Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here. Mr Dorjay briefed the Governor about the major governmental initiatives which are being presently implemented in Ladakh.

The Governor particularly stressed the critical importance of a network of satisfactory roads being built to connect the remote and far flung areas of Ladakh.

In this context, the Governor urged Mr Dorjay to particularly watch and regularly review the progress of the Kargil-Padum; Padum-Darcha; Padum-Nimu roads and also see that the Leh-Khardungla-Nubra and Leh-Siachen roads were well maintained.

The Governor also urged Mr Dorjay to especially focus on the establishment of agriculture cooperatives which are engaged in seed-multiplication, poultry farming, fish farming, food processing, and animal and sheep husbandry. (AGENCIES)
