SRINAGAR, Oct 8: Jammu and Kashmir Police today paid floral tributes to a constable, who was killed when militants attacked a police post in south Kashmir district of Shopian.
A police spokesperson here said a wreath laying ceremony was held in District Police Lines Kulgam where floral tributes were paid to constable Nazir Ahmad Wani.
He said Wani gave supreme sacrifice of his life while fighting militants at Jamnagri in Shopian late last evening.
Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Showkat Aijaz and SP Kulgam Shridhar Patel led police and civil officers in placed floral wreaths at the mortal remains of the martyr, he said.
Wani  is survived by his wife and two sons aged 10 years and 5years.
