JAMMU, Oct 3: Rural Women Foundation (RWF) took out a candle march in support of gang-rape victim.
Large number of members of RWF led by its President Sunita Sharma assembled at Satwari Chowk and took out candle march to express their solidarity with the gang-rape victim.
While speaking, Sunita Sharma informed that the candle march was taken out in support of gang rape victim. She stated that the girl was gang-raped by three persons in Channi Himmat area few days back and police is trying to shield the culprits.
“Though the police have arrested three accused including the lady involved in the crime, but not taking any strict measures against them and trying to save their skin by pressurizing the victim to take her case back”, Sunita alleged.
“We want to stop these inhuman acts and are raising our voice so that Government should take strict action against the culprits and set an example for the persons, who even dare to taken women for granted”, she said, adding that police should take strict action against the persons indulging in crime against women.
Among others present were Jyoti Sharma, Balwinder Kour, Amandeep Singh, Anju Gupta, Parv, Paul Sharma and Gudiya.
