On the occasion, the disciples of Swami Ji from within and outside Jammu and people from different walks of life thronged the Satsangh Bhawan to participate in the celebrations.
After birthday pooja and Gurupooja which were performed as per the traditions of the Ashram with Bhajans and Kirtans echoing up with eternal fragrance , Dharam Sabha was inaugurated by Swami Ji amid the chanting of religious hymns and a prayer to almighty for peace and tranquility for the followers of the dharma.
Prominent among those who participated in the Sabha included Swami Kumar Ji, Dr K N Pandita, Sanjay Dhar, Prof S N Pandita, A K Raina, Prof C L Raina, Prof G L Koul, Mohan Lal Raina and R C Chrangoo.
Quoting verse 35 from Chapter 3 of the Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta, Swami Ji said that many of us at times tend to see less or no virtue in Sanatan dharma in comparison to other dharmas or have essentially been fence sitters when it comes to observing our dharma in letter and spirit. He implored one and all that one’s own dharma is supreme and it is better to perform ones own dharma rather than engaging in others dharma which is fraught with fear, full of danger and perilous.
Swami Ji further said although the ultimate goal of all religions is to take the humanity to its origin yet we are not faithful to our own dharma how can we respect and understand another dharma.
He said though there are many schools of thought but the common destination of every religion should be to serve human being, God and his creation.
The Dharam Sabha culminated with the vote of thanks by Prof C L Raina and it was followed by serving of Prasad to the gathering by Swami Ji.
