NEW DELHI, Sept 28: Minister of State for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Transport and Power Shabir Ahmed Khan today called on Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Jaipal Reddy and discussed with him the stock position of LPG supplied to J&K. He also discussed with the Union Minister the new policy announced on capping of subsidized cylinders.
The State Minister urged upon the Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister for providing more subsidy on LPG to J&K. He apprised the Union Minister that Jammu and Kashmir is a backward State and special concession on LPG under new policy recently announced by the Center is must.
Mr. Shabir also requested the Union Minister for providing ample supply of LPG to the State well in time so that required LPG stocks would be made available in snow bound and far off areas of the State in time for convenience of the consumers .
The Minister also met Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Ratan Jeet Partab Naryan Singh and discussed with him LPG supply position to the State.
Both the Union Ministers gave patient hearing to the State Minister and assured him that apt decision in this regard would be taken at the earliest.
