JAMMU, Sept 28: High Court today dismissed bail applications filed by Saleem Beigh, the then Superintendent Central Jail Kot-Bhalwal, Surinder Kumar, PSO of Saleem Beigh and Sunny Choudhary alias Sunny Baba, who have been facing trial in alleged supari killing case.
After hearing both the sides and considering the arguments and also going through the case in depth, Justice Virender Singh observed, “keeping in consideration the back drop of the case and the manner the present case is linked with another case relating to murder of Amandeep Singh, Saleem Beigh and Surinder Kumar do not deserve concession of bail, more so when main witness namely Ranjeet Singh is yet to be examined and chances of pressurizing the witness cannot be ruled out”.
“At the same time there are chances of pressurizing other prosecution witnesses so far as petitioner Sunny Baba is concerned. As per the prosecution allegation, he happens to be a contract killer and his enlargement on bail is not at all justified. It is also made clear that none of the petitioners can otherwise claim parity with Jaggar Singh, their co-accused, who was already granted bail as his case is entirely distinguishable on facts”, Justice Virender Singh further observed.
With these observations, High Court dismissed all the three bail applications with direction to Trial Court to wrap-up the trial of the case at the earliest may be by taking up this case twice in a month so that all the witnesses are examined without any delay. Prosecution agency was also directed to ensure the presence of witnesses on each date fixed by the Trial Court.
