Vigilance conducts surprise checks in several districts

JAMMU, Aug 31: On receipts of inputs and complaints regarding misappropriation in supply of ration by the CA&PD Department Jammu Division, the Vigilance Organization J&K conducted joint surprise checks  in districts of Jammu, Samba,  Ramban, Kishtwar, Rajouri and  Poonch.
During surprise checking,  relevant record was seized from the offices of TSOs of Akhnoor , Samba, Ramban, Kishtwar, Kalakote and Mandi .
Records from the randomly selected dealers have also been seized for examination and scrutiny. Besides, more records will be requisitioned  and seized during the course of investigation to ascertain the facts.
The surprise checking was conducted on complaints that  higher rates were  being charged from ration card holders and ration was  being sold in black market besides misappropriation in the carriage charges causing loss to the state exchequer.
